Reino Unido, 31 de Enero. SE ANUNCIA CLUB DE FANS DE VANGELIS. Acaba de darse a conocer la formación de ALBEDO, el nombre elegido para la Vangelis Appreciation Society cuya intención es propocionar a los aficionados de todo el mundo con noticias e información sobre Vangelis y así crear un más amplio y cercano círculo de fans. ALBEDO producirá un fanzine, publicado en principio cada seis meses, el cual será un reflejo del trabajo de Vangelis y las opiniones de sus muchos seguidores. La revista contendrá noticias, entrevistas, concursos, cartas, opiniones e información para los coleccionistas. Repasará antiguos trabajos, intentará proveer ofertas especiales para los fans, proporcionará sugerencias para futuros proyectos y, a largo plazo, organizará una convención. ALBEDO se realizará sin ánimo de lucro y todos los ingresos realizados por el club serán donados a beneficencia. El primer número del fanzine se publicará durante Mayo/Junio de 1997. Estados Unidos, 29 de Enero. NOTICIAS SOBRE SUZANNE CIANI. Suzanne fue recientemente nominada para el Grammy Mejor Album New Age de 1996 por su último trabajo, Pianissimo II. Es su cuarta nominación y su segunda consecutiva; Dream Suite fue nominado el pasado año. Suzanne grabará su primer álbum en directo este mes de marzo en San Francisco con The Wave, un nuevo supergrupo instrumental que incluye a figuras tales como Michael Manring en el bajo, Paul McCandless a los instrumentos de viento, y a Teja Bell en la guitarra y los sintetizadores. El disco saldrá en mayo y seguramente incluirá también la publicación de un video.

Estados Unidos, 10 de Enero. NUEVA COMPILACION. Projectile es una nueva compilación de siete bandas de Salt Lake City que se han reunido para crear un CD/CD-ROM multimedia. Con 17 pistas, Projectile totaliza 64 minutos de música e incluye fotos, biografías de las bandas y letras. Los productores han creado un trabajo excelente que incluye un montaje de arte gráfico, así como hiperenlaces hacia las fotografías y biografías de las bandas para cualquiera que quiera navegar hacia ellas. Projectile son Bubble Couch, Aeon Dawn, Poink, Insanity Void, Mirror Mirror, South, Film & Silver.
