The music on this CD was originally issued on two vinyl albums, Learning to be silent and When Heaven comes to town. In Silent Heaven, there is a great variety of styles, colors, emotions, that C.W. Vrtacek is able to reflect in his compositions. The acoustic guitars have a leading role in quite a number of pieces, although they are accompanied by several other instruments. The use of synthesizers enhances the nightly, sensual atmospheres, that appear in some of the compositions, and is likewise useful as a vehicle for innovative ideas. In short, this is new instrumental music of the best quality that we will no doubt hear everywhere.
