RILEY LEE
"RAINFOREST REVERIE"
New World Music
This work by flute player Riley Lee includes three long themes interpreted with the Shakuhachi flute, which has been used in Japanese religious rituals since the fourteenth century, and which was introduced in this country from China more than a thousand years ago. The mystic character of the compositions is enhanced by the echoing effects which give a greater sonic entity to the flute, the only instrument used in the album. This CD constitutes an example of the fusion of the ancestral and the modern within the frame of the musical trends of the New Age.
