EDITORIAL INFORMATION

This proceedings volume includes the available papers presented at the Seventh International Space Conference of Pacific-Basin Societies, July 15-18, 1997, Nagasaki, Japan. The theme was "Space Cooperation into the 21st Century". The opening and international sessions were covered by senior government and industry speakers from Japan, China and the United States. There were nearly 100 papers submitted and accepted for presentation at the eight technical sessions. The technical session topics included: space communications; space transportation and propulsion; space science and missions; beneficial applications of space systems (including remote sensing, microgravity, etc.); manned space flight; Space Station and Pacific Space Port; astrodynamics; guidance and control (including space robotics and ground operations); large and/or flexible space structures; and space debris and environment.
