EDITORIAL INFORMATION

Astrología, ¿Ciencia o Creencia? constitutes a profound analysis of the supposed arguments that could be invoked to give a scientific rank to the belief in the influence of the sky bodies on our character and our fate. The book carries out a precise, detailed analysis of the different astrological doctrines in use, both in the past and in the present, comparing them with the astronomical knowledge of a considerable scope that humanity has come to accumulate along the recent times.

OUR REVIEW

Manuel Toharia continues with his particular crusade in search for the discrediting of parasciences and astrology. In this occasion he does so in an aggressive book that should lead those who are mere prone to believing to meditate on this issue. Under his expert hand many of the arguments in favor of astrology are described, in order to have them examined and discussed with all simplicity. Toharia, who recognises the common trunk that gave rise to astronomy and astrology, makes it very clear that the latter has now become a mere pseudoscience, completely overcome by the scientific events and the progress in the modern world.

Nevertheless, the author also analyses the psychological traits that can come to justify some behaviors in relation to the religious beliefs and astrology, giving them their due importance. So as to solve this mess, he proposes a wider difussion of the conventional sciences to the general readership and a better education at all levels. In the midst of a true wealth of products of astrological divulgation, in books, magazines, television, etc., the work by Toharia is a breath of fresh air that sets everyone in its place.
