EDITORIAL INFORMATION

La Holografía (holography) is a rapidly growing science that offers us the opportunity that in the near future its possibilities for creativity are manifold. With or without knowledge about lasers, the book offers a guide to create holograms by using a simple insulating board that you can make yourself. With these new procedures, and using the reflection of the white light, we can create all kinds of holograms in three-dimensional objects. This is a complete guide to get to know and develop the techniques of holography in all their range.

OUR REVIEW

When we look at a hologram we may easily come to think that we are before a three-dimensional representation of a very complicated manufacture. In a way this is so, yet in his book, John Iovine demythologizes this issue and makes available to us the necessary tools and knowledge we need to, on our own, learn how to make quality holograms with minimal means. The author explains in depth both the physical and optical aspects of holography, and the principles under which lasers and other elements intervening in the elaboration of a hologram function.

In this sense, the book is perfectly well structured. Its pages are full of examples and practical exercises we can carry out personally. This is then a most suitable work for those readers who wish to experiment and take their artistic and even their scientific ambitions beyond, an ideal way to learn while playing, up to the point when one gets to achieve spectacular results.
