OUR REVIEW All bilingual dictionaries are certainly welcome, yet this one is specially so since it is a dictionary specialized in a science (that of electronics and computers) whose importance is every time more obvious. The wide literature existing about this question, often in many different languages, causes difficulties to the professionals, who find themselves forced to become linguists. Therefore, Kaplan's work is what many of them were no doubt expecting. This well-known author, who has already prepared other similar dictionaries in legal matters, psychology and psychiatry, for instance, realises a magnificient work by making a fundamentally practical tool available to us. The number of terms covered and the precision of their equivalents will more than satisfy even the most demanding engineer. The correctness of its contents is guaranteed by the series of expert Spanish-speaking collaborators who have helped Kaplan in the definition of the dictionary. |
