EDITORIAL INFORMATION

The eleventh edition of the European Space Directory was published for Spring, beginning of April 1996 and is available in our Paris offices. As in previous years, we have done our best to publish up-to-date and accurate information. For the first time, the Directory is European in the larger sense, covering not only companies from countries of the European Space Agency (ESA) and/or most countries in the European Union. Of course, companies from ESA countries still form the hard core of profiles features in the 1996 edition, but there are newcomers. Portugal and Greece promote their space industries in the Directory together with their efforts to knit closer ties to ESA. Companies and institutions from the newly independent states on the eastern border of the European Union (Hungary, Poland and Romania) are also present.

OUR REVIEW

Here is a new edition (with eleven years in the market) of this most valuable directory of companies and firms belonging to the space industry. In it, as usual, we have a revision of the astronautical activities in the last year, some articles of great interest and the spectacular gathering of 274 profiles made in depth among which we will find addresses, contact personnel and data on the companies that have decided to appear in this guide. For those who cannot or do not wish to finance their presence, the publishers have included a minimum listing which is useful to complete as much as feasible the value of this magnificient work.

For the buyer, for those who must look for a given product, European Space Directory 1996 is invaluable, since it locates all suppliers according to their areas of activity and services. No less important is the "Who's Who" section, where we will find the names and positions held by some 1,500 people related to the firms listed in the directory. For the latter, besides these addresses and contact telephone numbers, the societal capital, personnel, structure of the company, activities, specialities, etc. are provided. In a word, an essential book for the professional in the European space world.
