VOLT: "NUCLEOSYNTHESIS" Groove Unlimited Unexpected architectures of sound, amazing artistic approaches and a very effective mise en scéne are the main traits of the musical style of that duo in "Nucleosynthesis". Their work with the three suites the album consists in, show us once again the brilliant imagination of Michael Shipway and Steve Smith to create space music far from the most typical conventionalisms in this genre, yet it does not reject powerful rhythms or stormy atmospheres of sound. Neither does it fall into arid experimentation lacking any aesthetic beauty. In fact, in this work there are strong doses of melodic symphonism which provide many passages with an impressive majestic air, very romantic on occasion. EDGAR KOGLER http://www.groove.nl |
