Broekhuis, Keller & Schonwalder
REPELEN
Manikin Records
2010
An excellent edition, integrated by a CD with the music
and a video in DVD, of the concert that Bas Broekhuis, Detlef Keller and
Mario Schonwalder gave on February 7th, 2010, and Ebert, as well as Eva
and Thomas Kagermann, who also participated.
The music created by
the three synthesists is highlighted by Thomas Kagermann at the violin and
Raughi Ebert at the guitar, acquiring a further special visual dimension
thanks to the dances performed by Eva Kagermann, a fascinating, atypical
dancer. Ll that is completed with a highly elaborated performance of
lights and images, which suggests an intriguing fusion between the
medieval and the futuristic.
The pieces gather elements of Space
Sequencer Music with airs of the School of Berlin, and influences of
Classical Music and of Contemporary Instrumental Music, with shades of
World Music.
The melodies are well groomed, frequently tend to the
romantic, and constitute the perfect counterpoint for the rhythms, which
are slow at times, and frenetic in other occasions.
In conclusion,
an awesome audiovisual work audiovisual that will allow everybody to enjoy
the performance
