John Luther Adams
FOUR THOUSAND HOLES
Cold Blue Music
2011
In his very personal style fluctuating between Ambient,
Minimalism and the trips to unknown regions of experiments with sound,
John Luther Adams has composed two pieces of a hypnotic character, where
he plays with
textures dominated by the combination of sounds,
echoes and silences.
This is especially appreciated in the second
track "...and bells remembered".
The first piece, which is the
longest and the one giving its name to the disc, counts with the
protagonism of the piano, though transmuted in an infinity of sonorities
and complemented with some other instruments.
