FUZZHEAD
"WHAT'S GOIN' ON?"
When Bill Weita created Fuzzhead, the band destined to shape his most visionary personal projects, he opened a door that surely, without him, would have continued to be closed for a long time. With an unusual lucidity, he started to paint with live colors a collection of sound chimeras transformed into a psychedelic reality by means of completely unusual musical architectures. In "What's goin' on?" we find a perfect practical demonstration of these approaches. To board Psychedelia from perspectives not exclusively based on Rock, and besides, to do this with ease, with spontainety, requires a creative fluency that is not available to everybody. The wonderful result thus reached in this, one of the most risky works of Fuzzhead, throws us into a surrealism as solid as rock and as clear as the most defined of musical genres.Fleeing from fruitless experimentation and from uncontrolled noisiness, the music surprises us per se.
