Fabulous Drop is not a beginner's recording. The seventh work by Curlew is a magnificent and mature example of what the New York's Kinitting Factory-based alternative music scene can produce. Curlew works very near to experimental jazz. The band includes saxist George Cartwright, guitarists Davey Williams and Chris Cochrane, bassist Ann Rupel and drummer Kenny Wolleson. The pieces have been composed by Cartwright (solid, mysterious themes!), Cochrane, Williams and Rupel. Nine very different pieces for people who want something more than simple melodies.
