Threads, composed and recorded by Story from 1978 to 1980, was originally scheduled for release in 1981 on a subsidiary of the French ATEM label. Due to the demise of that company and other problems, this album was indefinitely shelved. This is the first appearance of Threads in its entirety, and also includes three previously unreleased pieces from 1980-82. This work is an impressive symphony whose 12 themes include different styles, though mostly portraying electronic / New Instrumental Music. Some passages are majestic, cosmic, mysterious. Others turn out to be warm, emotional. The music also shows a classical character. The melody is always the protagonist. The compositions are based on the piano and synthesizers.
