Forrest Fang is a Chinese-American multi-instrumentist who plays the violin, the keyboards and electronic devices, percussion and a great amount of traditional instruments. His music, up to now eminently electronic and progressive, makes deep incursions into world music and into the fusion of styles from several cultures here. This is a certainly original product, which drinks from all the influences previous to Fang, at the same time perfecting his personal style and his already extraordinary sound. The music included in The Blind Messenger takes us from the East to the West all the same, in a blend of sonic colors of a difficult description. Although almost all the album is the fruit of the efforts of a single man, musicians Kit Watkins and Carl Weingarten have briefly collaborated together with Fang.
