German synthesist Bernd Kistenmacher, who since he began his musical career in the eighties, has been described as the most legitimate renovator from the Berlin School, proves in this CD that it is possible to maintain the spirit of that current and at the same time make different things, risky and original. Thoughts reveals the artist in his most imaginative and innovative aspects. The six long pieces included in this album are pure electronic music, with the philosophy of exploring new sonic continents nonetheless without abandoning melody and rhythm. These two become fused into complex constructions, where the sequencers shape the melodies. Kistenmacher skillfuly utilizes elements from Techno and Ambient to combine them into a result that has little to do with orthodox Techno and Ambient. Most of the the music has a fast rhythm, yet there also are slow passages, including the theme "Nachtflug II".
