THE GREAT KAT

"GUITAR GODDESS"

The Great Kat

Katherine Thomas, better known as The Great Kat, couldn't have chosen a better title for her album. Having a classical background specialized in the violin and the guitar, the artist has however followed a radically different path: that of heavy-metal. Yet The Great Kat has not resigned herself to following the current trends within this genre, but has preferred to create her own. Armed with her devilish virtuosity with the guitar, she has devoted herself to adapting classical compositions incorporating them to her particular musical vision. In her previous album, The Great Kat astonished everybody when she divulged her versions of themes by Beethoven, Bach, Wagner, etc. In Guitar Goddess, a short album with four songs, the artist adapts Rossini's The Barber Of Seville, as well as a waltz by Sarasate, in which she uses again the electric guitar and the classical violin. The result is once again quite unexpected and worthy of attention. Certainly, it is only reccommended for tolerant minds and really strong stomachs.
