VANGELIS

"PORTRAITS"

Deutsche Grammophon / Polydor

A compilatory album more, yet one that, as they say, in this occassion it has been supervised by Vangelis himself. And it must be true, since the themes have been arranged in a unitary form, almost fusioned, and some others, as for instance the legendary To The Unknown Man, have received new mixes and layers of synthesizers. The contents: splendid. A magnificient selection of all his times that also include some of the most beautiful themes ever produced together with Jon Anderson. A pair of pieces released for the first time are likewise included: Sauvage et Beau, from the credit titles of an old TV series, and Hymn, in a completely new version prepared by Vangelis for one of his latest concerts, where he used choirs and more symphonic arrangements. In summary, a perfect introduction to the music of this golden Greek musician, the wizard of keyboards, that will be appreciated by all those listeners who wish to get to know in a short time all his very wide trajectory.
