This compact disc includes six independent compositions by Arvo Pärt: "Fratres", which gives its name to the album, "Cantus in memoriam Benjamin Britten", "Summa", "Spiegel im Spiegel", "Festina Lente", and the two parts of "Tabula Rasa". The style is based on Classical Music, but it also explores more or less innovative paths. For example, most noteworthy is "Cantus in memoriam Benjamin Britten", which could be defined as Cosmic Music performed by an orchestra.
