The Festival Sonar 97 was held in the city of Barcelona on June 12, 13 and 14. Devoted to the alternative musics, even if mostly Techno and other genres near to this one, numerous artists participated in the event. It was organized by Advanced Music, the SGAE, and the Centre de Cultura Contemporania of Barcelona. A great deal of organizations and companies supported the Festival. Sonar is becoming one of the most important Techno festivals in Europe.
Among the different performances available to the audience, several of them were worth attending to, given the expectations that they arose in the general public attending them, yet one of those that in our opinion turned out to be more brilliant indeed, was the one by Exhaustor, an electronic musician who since the early eighties has been making innovative, risky music, and who is mostly known through his work as Orfeon Gagarin. His concert was an impressive collection of rhytmic pieces, with most powerful rhythmic sequences and percussive sounds.
