Spain, November 2. Mike Oldfield has just launched his new record, Voyager, in which he takes a more acoustic path rather than pursuing his electronic style, at the same time becoming closer to Celtic music. This change in his artistic trajectory coincides with other changes in his life. After several years settled in Los Angeles, he has moved to the island of Ibiza (Spain). There he has established his studio. His relationship with the Balearic Islands comes from some time back, as he had already owned a house in the island of Majorca, quite near to Ibiza, some years ago. This change in residence has been mostly caused by, as Oldfield himself explains, the fact that he feels drawn towards the peaceful, spiritual atmosphere of the island, "relaxing in summer and mysterious in winter."
