Germany, November 2. In 1997, Klaus Schulze will have a celebration of his fiftieth anniversary, and the twenty-fifth anniversary of his solo recording career. To celebrate, the recording label Manikin Records is preparing a special edition of 25 CDs containing previously unreleased music composed by Schulze, to be released in a limited edition of a thousand copies, specifically aimed at collectionists and fans of the artist. The first 500 orders to be made, will include specially signed copies by Schulze. Orders can already be issued. Klaus Schulze has accepted that Klaus D. Mueller (his manager and a veteran promoter of electronic music in general) searched his sonic files to select the most interesting recordings so as to build up this compilation. The Jubilee Edition includes pieces from all kinds and eras. It constitutes 26 years of the musical history of the synthesist (the recordings range from 1970 to 1996), containing concerts, soundtracks and unreleased studio themes that had not been included in any album. All in all, it amounts to thirty hours of music. The edition is complemented with covers which are well supplied with photos and texts, offering the historical reference of each piece. The photos are likewise previously unreleased ones, since they belong to Schulze's own private collection. For further information, contact: Manikin Records (Germany).
