LIZ STORY

American pianist Liz Story became interested in music from her childhood, learning to play the piano. She was given a classical musical education, and later she felt attracted to Jazz. She became a Jazz pianist. She alternated her musical studies with a job at a restaurant playing the piano to entertain the guests. This job taught her how to improvise. After several months, these improvisations ended up becoming compostitions. A tape with these recordings was listened to by William Ackerman, a composer and the driving force behind the label Windham Hill, who at once recognized the artist's talent. Thus Solid Colors, her first album, was released.
