American guitarist Carl Volk, born in 1953, felt attracted by music and most especially by the guitar from an early age. He began to get lessons of this instrument at age ten. His professional trajectory led him to the music school of the University of New Mexico. He perfected his technique with Héctor García, one of the most legendary Cuban guitarists. With his album Death of an Angel Tango, in 1995, he became known in the United States with a favourable response on the part of the audience and the specialized press.
