ENCYCLOPEDIA OF COMPOSERS OF ELECTRONIC MUSIC

We are preparing an encyclopaedia of composers of electronic music. The artists wishing to be included can send us a biography (with a list of works and contact address if they wish to) of no more than 900 words, in English, to:

Inserts are free.

We think the existence of an encyclopaedia which would list all electronic composers of the world (or as many of them as possible) is of utmost necessity. We'd like to include all the composers who have had an important relationship with the musical electronic revolution and who work or have worked in new ways of musical expression related to the utilization of electronics. We are interested in both the full time artists and the independent home-tapers. It doesn't matter if their music is "ambient", "Space", "Experimental" or any other style.

Probably half of all current music is produced through electronics. But much of it is not specially composed for synthesizers, sequencers and computers, only played with them, and it also can be played with acoustic instruments.

"Electronic Music" may be a definition for all the music impossible to play (and probably impossible to compose) without synthesizers, sequencers, computers and other electronic equipment. "Electronic music" is, we think, music totally and specially composed to play with synthesizers and other electronic instruments.
