-INTERNET PROGRESSIVE MUSIC MAILING LIST

"e-Prog" is a Music Mailing List devoted to reviewing Progressive, Symphonic, Art Rock which uses Synthesizers, Moogs, Mellotrons, Hammond Organs and other Keyboards. The lists purpose is to enhance the listening experience by providing a forum to discuss artists/groups, albums, concerts, news, recording techniques & equipment and is geared towards fans, artists, producers, promoters and distributors. The groups/artists likely to be discussed are such classics as Pink Floyd, King Crimson, Genesis, ELP, Yes, PFM, Triumvirat, Goblin, Renaissance, Wakeman and Emerson as well as more contemporary acts such as Solaris, Pendragon, Spock's Beard, Ars Nova, Glass Hammer, Djam Karet, Anglagard, Pär Lindh Project, Gerard, Metamorphosi, Romantic Warriors, Rocket Scientists and Redjy Emond.

The list discussions are intended to be broad enough to appeal to both the beginner and the expert. Although some degree of specialization and focus is needed, the scope is essentially unlimited as long as it is music-related... in fact, this is just the place to discuss items that might not be welcome on other more specialized mailing lists!!

To subscribe follow this link.

(We average 15-20 posts per day and a daily digest mode is available).

We have over 250 members from 32 countries... so come join in the fun!! We have many artists on the list... some of which you would surely recognize!! (Member countries: Aruba, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Denmark, England, Finland, France, Germany, Holland, Hong Kong, Hungary, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Mexico, Namibia, New Zealand, Norway, Peru, Philippines, Portugal, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, Tonga and the United States.)

The list has a dedicated website (http://www.e-prog.net) featuring a 'Band Reviews' section which includes over 200 individual band or artist review pages gleaned from the mailing list discussions.  If you want to skip right to the main course, there is a 'Top 10 Instrumental Keyboard Prog Rock Albums' listing which will give you a short review of some "essential" recordings... Also check out the list of 'recommended prog rock albums', the 'prog rock poll' conducted by our list members and an extensive 'links' section for sources of on-line mail order sites as well as some great websites by list members. And last but not least, there's a 'What is Prog Rock?' section featuring articles on the progressive rock genre, book and magazine resources, and a prog rock timeline map tracing back the roots of development and the branching off of the sub-genres of the prog movement in the 60's and 70's.

See you there...
Mark Fonda (list owner)
